District defeat
Last night I was at a girls district basketball final. The hometown team was hoping for their 2nd trip to the state tournament next week, but their dreams fell through. Tough game for them. They didn't play as well as they have been lately. Here, one of the players on the bench realizes that their dream was slipping away late in the fourth period.

Random photos

Just a few more random photos that I came across this morning. A few things I've photographed over that past couple of years... The Blue Angels refueling over Missouri, sunset reflections from the press box of the University of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium, kids at Lake Ericson in Nebraska, and an Emerson Drive concert.

State Wrestling semifinals

Well, another day at the state wrestling tournament has come and gone. It's now a little past 1:30am, and I'm finally done editing, cropping and transmitting about 35 photos back to the newspaper office for use in tomorrow's paper and on our website (http://www.norfolkdailynews.com/).
A friend of mine shot this photo of some of the press at work during the semifinals. That's Kiley Cruse of the Omaha World Herald on the left, and yours truly on the right. Thanks for the photo, Brad Norton. He's a shooter for the Kearney Hub.
Tomorrow my day starts at about noon. Championship matches are at 2pm, and hopefully I'll be back home in Norfolk at about 8pm.

Nebraska State Wrestling

I'm currently at the Nebraska high school state wrestling championships. Today is day one. I had about 60 matches to shoot today, and I'm about half done right now. This photo is from an earlier match. It's nice to see kids have emotion like this after winning an early round. It also helps the emotions when it's a big upset.
Photos from Romania
Some photos from my trips to Romania between 1996-2001. I can't believe it's been almost 7 years since I've been there. I miss that country and the people there, and wish I could go again. Someday I will...
